Dear Philips,
it’s been a while since I brought an issue to the public, but here we go again:
The 2014 Philips Ultra HD TVs from the 7909 series (55PUS7909 and 49PUS7909) do have a serious problem when displaying content in Ultra HD (2160p) with 60 Hz: A green vertical bar / green pixel columns appear(s) on the right. See the following picture:
These TVs were announced in 2014, were available since 2014 and this issue is well known at least since 2015 (see i.a. your own Philips Forum and here).
So, what is preventing you from fixing this issue? This bug is always reproducible! This needs to be fixed… especially, when more and more people are using 4K-Xbox, 4K-Playstation, 4K-Chromecast, 4K-Nvidia-Shield, 4K-HTPC… ! And the AND1E firmware is still not EOL!
In the datasheets of 7909 (also in the user manual) is written:
Supported Display Resolution
- Computer inputs on all HDMI: up to 4K Ultra HD 3840×2160, @60Hz
- Video inputs on all HDMI: up to 4K Ultra HD 3840x2160p, @ 24, 25, 30, 50, 60Hz
It’s not written: “up to 4K Ultra HD 3840×2160, @60Hz (but you will have a green vertical pixel bar on the right – you need to live with that)“!
Is this again rocket science? Get your things done!
