    Hey Аlex,

do you think if downgrade from TPM196E_091.003.255.001 to TPM196E_091.003.166.001 will work?

After upgrading to QM163E_U_0.16.102.9, the TV lost the ability to control the volume of the connected headphones with the TV remote. With older firmware versions, this was possible – after connecting the headphones, you could turn off the TV’s internal speakers, and the remote control controlled the volume of the headphone socket. In its current state, plugging in headphones does not turn off the TV’s internal speakers, and you cannot control the volume level. Unfortunately, I don’t know what was the version number that had such an option, so I’d like to try all of them one by one, starting with the oldest one, to find the right one. I also wrote to the Philips website, but unfortunately they replied that they do not send archived versions of the software. I found several versions of the “upgrade loader” on your website and tried to install them all in sequence, but none of them helped. (translated with google)

    Hi,

    @Ivaylo
You don’t have to downgrade from version to version. Just take the one, you want to install

    @Thomas
This was an issue of TPM171E, but not QM163E…?

Yes, This was an issue of TPM171E (I have also 50PUS7303 TV and have the same problem, but I found ugrade loader on your site and works fine and locked automatic update in TV’s software), but it happens in QM163E too. I’m sure, that it has worked properly recently, before update.

    Moin moin,

    Hey Alex,

I have problem to cast from laptop to YouTube app on TV with version TPM196E_091.003.255.001.

That’s why I want to install TPM196E_091.003.166.001 which is older version.

Do you think if it will work? Will the TV recognize the older version?

    Hey Alex,

So it won’t be a problem that I downgrade from 255.001 to 166.001?

This screenshot is from your website. Does this apply only to older TVs?
I’m sorry for asking 3 times but I’m a little bit scared. :D

    HI,

this guide (from your screenshot) is for 2010-2013 TVs. For newer TVs use the link “upgrade loader” on top of the firmware archive page.

    Mister Alex,

Because of you my problem is fixed because of you.
I asked you for downgrade file and you uploaded it for me.
I asked you for your opinion if this downgrade will work and you said that it will.

The downgrade worked perfectly fine for me.
And it fixed the problem that I had for 4 months.
Philips Support said that this downgrade is not possible. Their specialists said that there is a big chance that this version(and older) might not be recognized by the TV.
I’m so happy that I didn’t listen to what they said.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You saved my life!

Please let me know how can I repay you?

    Hello Alex,

As the user above, I also have a problem with Philips Smart TV running Saphi OS.
In my case, i own a 50PUS7805/12 (2020 model) and I also can’t use the cast to Youtube from laptop.
I bought it in November 2020 and have used it until last month running the TPM206E_201.002.238.011 version. I am now with the most recent TPM206E_201_003.064.001 released on Feb 8th, but the problem remains.

I’ve been in contact for over a moth with Philips technical support and have pinpointed the error in time to have started with the November 2020 update, but they refuse to provide me the software for a downgrade, while also denying the malfunctioning is their responsibility.

Do you think the Downgrade is safely possible to do with a version prior to November 2020?

    Thanks in advance!
    Joao

I only found the most recent version there. I’m looking for either the TPM206E _ 201.002.174.001– Date: 2020/08/25
    or the TPM206E _ 201.002.091.011– Date: 2020/06/15!

Can you kindly point me to where I can download those, please?

    Much appreciated
