I made the switch from a 48OLED935 to a 48OLED808 and I’m not yet entirely convinced it was a good idea.
I wanted to make use of the 4K 120 Hz gaming option by connecting my PC with RTX 4090 to the HDMI 1 input and using eARC on HDMI 2 to send the audio to my receiver. However, I cannot get any of the HDR / high refresh modes to work. As soon as I try it, my entire PC starts to behave very strangely (black screens, unresponsive etc.). I’m using an optical HDMI cable that is supposed to support 48 Gbps, but I have my doubts now.
Did anyone here already successfully use 4K/120 with their PC?
Another issue is that I have judder/frame skipping when playing 50 Hz content from my PC. I use this setup to watch F1 using the Multiviewer app. I found out I am able to fix the judder by configuring the colour output to YCbCr422 in the Nvidia control panel and then switch to 25 Hz refresh rate and then back to 50 Hz. However, I need to do this every time I start playing a new stream.
Finally, I occassionally see ambilight flashes as described above (not very often though).
