          Well, the problem is described a few pages back, and I’ve also seen it mentioned by some users on Reddit.

          To get a signal, i.e., picture and sound, via HDMI 2, it is not enough to select HDMI 2 as the input source as before. The TV must first be turned off and on again before, as in my case, the Yamaha RX-4A4 with the devices connected to it is displayed. This is definitely a bug and was not the case before the 220 firmware.

          If this is not the case for you, that’s fine. You don’t have the 909 like me or others. It may be a timing issue with the CEC frames, which may depend on the device type.

          It’s possible that Philips tests and develops the firmware on one or two devices and then releases it. And if you’re unlucky, it causes problems on exactly the other devices. Given the variety of models, this is not surprising, but it is still unacceptable. Especially when you pay €1600 for a device that then has new bugs with every update.

            Kann bestätigen, dass bei meinem 908er (2023) Ambilight nach dem FW Update auf 220 noch ganz normal funktioniert.

            CEC weiterhin defekt (Onkyo AV). Bekannter Workaround funktioniert weiterhin.

              Hat es jemand geschafft ein Kinderprofil in Deutschland einzurichten?

                Did anyone actually receive this update on their 959?
                I’m still on 201.100.146.207 that I got from the Philips support and this new version doesn’t appear when checking for update.

                  Do you also have the 819 model Is there a notification after 2 hours of use and turning on the TV that the image needs to be cleared? Is this the burn-in protection? I have it set to normal, and it wasn’t like this before the update?

                    @Cinéque

                    Same for my 810.

                    Every time I turn it on after a few hours.

                      @Cinek mine (849) says “picture cleaning finished” most re-start. I belive this was mentioned by others already.

                        Hi,

                        I think, is is the normal 10 min clean up, which is done in standby…

                          Have those whose USB 3 network card has stopped working tried changing the USB port mode from charging to network card in the developer options?
                          Settings – Developer options – USB configuration selection – RNDIS (USB Ethernet)

                          I prudently stayed on Google TV 12, and as I can see, it was a good decision after reading about what you are struggling with here with each subsequent update.

                            Hello,

                            @Toengel
                            and others: Regular automatic screen refreshing is essential for protecting the OLED screen. This is mentioned in the first pages of the user manual, although not in big detail. From information on-line I read that the automatic screen refreshing is (automatically) triggered after a number of operating hours (4 hours for some models). If the TV continues to be on for more than 4 hours, then the next time it is on stand-by it will perform the screen refreshing (lasting around 10 minutes). The message about the screen refreshing each time the TV starts is normal behavior and normally it disappears on its own. For those interested there is a counter that shows the time elapsed from the last refresh (and some other time related data) that can be found in page 5 or 6 of the system menu which opens by typing 123654 in TV (antenna) mode – this works on my 55OLED909/12. If refreshing is triggered more often, e.g. a message appears notifying that the TV needs to refresh, it is either because the TV did not manage to auto-refresh while on stand-by (e.g. because it was cancelled by turning TV on or by switching off power completely), or that something is not operating well. Perhaps then contacting service could be needed.

                            @Piotr: Regarding the USB to Gigabit (1000 Mbps) ethernet adapters, it appears that they no longer work after Google TV 14 was installed, at least on my 909, regardless of the USB settings in developer options. The decision not to upgrade was probably better, if fast ethernet is essential.

                              Hi,

                              @Aarx

                              I know – most of these Philips OLED clean residual image stuff on the internet is based on my article back in 2017 ;-)

                              Philips: OLED “Burn-in” und wie damit richtig umgegangen wird

                              and in 2020:

                              Philips: Informationen zum geänderten OLED-Bereinigungsprozess (Burn-In)

                              But the hours maybe be changed depending on the OLED panel generation…

                                Sure, your blog is probably the ultimate source on Philips TVs, even LLM platforms (or AI as they are known, Grok, Gemini, etc.) use your articles as the main reference ;-) Thanks for the support!

                                  Hallo, trotz stundenlanger Versuchegelingt mir kein downgrade von

                                  Ich bin genau nach Anleitung verfahren: USB2 Stick mit 4 GB und FAT32, PKG-Datei auf den neu formatierten USB-Stick kopiert, TV vom Strom genommen, Stick in den schwarzen USB Anschluss gesteckt und TV wieder ans Netz angeschlossen.

                                  Leider passiert dann rein gar nichts. Zusätzlich habe ich noch versucht, den sehr langen Dateinamen der PKG-Datei (PH_TPM231WW_WW_MT9972_ALLPANEL_R.201.100.107.002_20250430_7594.pkg) zu kürzen. Auch das hilft nichts. Ich bin nun ratlos und brauche Hilfe.  Vielen Dank!
