I tried changed it to DVD free as below (HTS9140) for my HTB9550 it worked.

a. turn on player, if disc in tray, remove it from the tray.
b. press the home key on the remote
c. type on remote: 8689310

I’ve tried this: –
a. turn on player
b. press the home key on the remote and only go to SetUp, do not press ‘OK’
c. type on remote: 1 3 8 9 3 1 0 8 5 2 0
This will show the settings of the player
i.e. Region Codes: DVD(0) BD(B)
