You could ask Philips Support if downgrading a 2025 model to ATV 12 will work…

@Alex,
Thank you very much!
If I understand correctly, since my 810 is from 2025, it is not compatible with Android 12 because the earliest version I can find in the changelog is TPM231WW:201.100.086.203, which is already running Android 14.

HDMI2 Eintrag ausweichen. Will ich aber von einer analogen Quelle am Receiver was ansehen, funktioniert das gar nicht, da kein 2. HDMI2 existiert. Neu starten des Fernsehers hilft auch nicht.
Damit leider vollständig unbrauchbar die ATV14 Software :(

The folks at Philips believe that we only connect our video sources to Philips devices; they are unfamiliar with the concept of AVR.
The problem with Philips (in ATV14) is that it sees the AVR as a master logical address (which is normal), but it also sees the device connected to the AVR as a master logical address… instead of seeing it as a slave logical address. As a result, since it is the AVR that sends the signal to the Philips, it switches to the AVR signal which is actually just an audio output for Philips TVs, when thé AVR is turned on, hence the black screen… But the big question is, what do you do if you have a non-CEC-compatible device connected to the AVR (because it doesn’t see it)?

Hallo

@Thierry: That’s exactly what I desribed above your post. An analog input is obviously not CEC compatible. Therefore it simply does not work at all.
Coco
@Cf, thanks for your feedback!
But my 810 isn’t compatible with Android 12, so I can’t use this version… too bad…
I can’t wait for them to fix this!!!!

I tried to downgrade the firmware to .220 to .207 without success on my 810.
I have a .pkg file with the .207 version. Do i have to connect it on the blue or black usb port ?
What is the good name of the firmware .pkg to put on the usb key ?
DidneyWorl1
unpack the upgrade_loader .zip to a 4-32GB USB 2.0 drive, pull TV’s power cord, insert USB drive in the USB 2.0 port (black), put in TVs power cord and in about 10 seconds you will get the blue downgrade progression screen…after initial setup do a factory reset.

@DreckSoft :I understood… My question was more of an ironic question aimed at Philips (just in case… lol).

On 809 there is stuttering/lag when watching Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ content if motion smoothing is enabled. When motion smoothing is disabled completely, the stutter/lag disappears as well. I prefer using light motion smoothing, smoothing 2 – blur 2.
I have done some tests and I believe it happens when the source material is both DV (profile 8) and HDR 10+.
If source content is only DV (profile 5), no stuttering occurs. This is obviously a problem when streaming from Netflix or such as you cannot change the source..

Hi, I hope this is the right thread for my question.
I have a 55OLED809/12 bought in France, I’m Italian, therefore I can’t select the Region Italy to have the correct LCN list for the DVB-T2 channels, and I’m forced to select “Other” and then create a favorites list in order to have the correct channel list.
But since lately several channels disappear at once, I have to modify almost daily the favorites list and re-order those channels, which is painful.
Since I found here the TPM231WW_R.201.100.146.220_upgrade_loader, I was asking myself whether this big firmware might help me to fully reset the TV and have Italy among the Regions for the DVB-T2 channels, or it does nothing because the Region Italy is encoded somewhere else…
Thanks in advance.

<p class=”simple-translate-candidate” dir=”auto”></p>Hi,
since the OLED is for the whole EU market (there is no special version for Italian market), you should be able to set up Italy during TV setup…
Deactivate the “automatic channel update” option.

After yet another ticket with Philips, a more coherent response than the others…but I’m under no illusions:
My last message:
I would like to provide some further details:
– Models with firmware ..234 do not have this problem
– If we use a non-CEC device that is connected, the TV does not even see the HDMI stream from that device in its list of sources on the AVR, so the Philips TV does not allow us to view video from that device.
Philips, with ATV14, combines:
Video signal detection
CEC detection
Automatic source switching
Philips 2025 OLEDs never seem to consider an HDMI stream valid if no CEC is detected behind an AVR.
So the AVR relays the video stream, but the TV “ignores” the source if the device does not have CEC.
Result: signal active, but impossible to select or view.
Panasonic/LG/Sony/TCL → always display the HDMI input, regardless of CEC.
Philips → HDMI input only visible if CEC responds.
The response:
Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
Thank you very much for contacting Philips TV Support.
Thank you for all the detailed technical information you have provided.
Based on the information provided and the tests carried out, the behavior observed regarding the detection of HDMI inputs on your Philips OLED 2025 (ATV14) does indeed seem to indicate a firmware issue, particularly in relation to CEC management and HDMI source validation.
We can confirm that your case will be escalated to our technical/engineering team for further analysis. The following points will be specifically examined:
Validation of HDMI sources conditional on CEC detection.
Failure to display an active HDMI signal in the absence of a CEC device.
Possible regression compared to firmware version ..234.
Potential non-compliance with HDMI standards
Your feedback is very valuable and will contribute to the technical analysis.
We will get back to you as soon as we have feedback from the relevant team.
