Wegen der Probleme mit Youtube: Installiert einfach Smart Youtube TV oder SmartTube Next. Da werden alle Einschränkungen der Standard App umgangen mit einigen weitere Vorteilen. Ansonsten laufen auf meinen 8503 nach dem Update Netflix und Prime so wie es sein soll.

Ich kann es Dir echt nicht sagen, ob meiner in YouTube je p60 abgespielt hat, wenn ich früher mal manuell umgeschaltet habe (z. B. im April wegen der Lockdown bedingen Bandbreiten Ersparnis) habe ich nie XXXp60 ablesen können.

Vielleicht kommt ja ein App Update von Google.

I searched a little bit regarding YouTube problems on TV’s and found something interesting. On YouTube those videos, which were uploaded as 4K (30/60 fps, HDR/SDR), stores in VP9 video format for resolutions higher HD 720P.

I.e.:
– 4K 60FPS SDR video will have 4K 60FPS VP9, 2K 60FPS VP9, Full HD 60FPS VP9 streams, so only HD 720P vids have AVC codec and being selected
– 4K 30FPS SDR video will have 4K 30FPS VP9, 2K 30FPS VP9, Full HD 30FPS VP9 streams
– 4K 60FPS HDR video will have 4K 60FPS VP9 SDR/VP9 profile 2 HDR, 2K 60FPS VP9 SDR/VP9 profile 2 HDR, Full HD 60FPS VP9 SDR/VP9 profile 2 HDR streams

For some reason YouTube cuts off VP9 playback for our TVs in it’s official client. AVC only.

Also for HDR videos Google uses VP9 profile 2, which need additional hardware support I guess. YouTube HDR vids (VP9 profile 2) can’t be played on nVidia Shield Pro 2019, for example.

I checked some vids and found, that some 4K/2K/Full HD 60FPS vids played via Smart Youtube TV have lags and freezes.

Update regarding icons:

1. I downgraded to TPM171E_R.107.001.101.002
2. Installed all my apps and configured live channels
3. Then I upgraded to TPM171E_R.107.001.136.003 again
4. Icons for two channels disappeared right after update
5. Icon for another one channel disappeared in 2h afterupdate
6. Another applicalions still hold channel icons after 1 day of use

So this method with downgrade is unusble. There is no point in repeating.

Das mit YouTube:

Es liegt bei mir wirklich an den p60 Inhalten.

Geht mit Euren Handys/Tablets/Computer Mal auf folgendes Video:

Diese wird generell nur mit p30 angeboten (je nach Auflösung Eurer Endgeräte bis hinauf zu 4K HDR).
-Dieses wird Eurer TV in 4K HDR abspielen

Beispiel 2:

Dieses wird generell nur in p60 angeboten (je nach Auflösung Eurer Endgeräte bis hinauf zu 4K HDR).
-Dieses wird Eurer TV maximal bis 720p30 in SDR abspielen (das ist irgendein Fallback, ggf. auch Codec bedingt, wie PerezChilli erläutert hat).

Ok this is a joke. On previous update wifi would not stay connected when tv was on standby. With this update after every standby network connection is set on wired. WTF is going on with this updates. For this reason I cant use mobile app for wowlan and need to connect to wifi every time tv is turned on. Pure shit.

Oh and may I add, static ip (wont stay on static ip between power off/on) is persistent with all updates.

Also Netflix ist OK, 4K und HDR oder beides. Youtube ist aber auch bei mir nach wie vor NOK, viele Viedos werden nur in 720p abgespielt, dies hat aber mit dem Philips Fernseher zu tun, da Youtube beim mir Z. Bsp auf der UPC TV Box oder auf dem Samsung Fernseher die gleichen Videos mit 4k abspielt. ich kann es nicht verstehen, dass Philips so lange braucht um ein Update herauszbringen und es dann gleichzeitig nicht schafft, die Fehler korrekt zu beheben. Ein Armutszeugnis. Mir kommt es sowieso vor, als das die Plattform TPM171E zu einem Steifkind verkommen ist, bei welchem nur noch das allernötigste gemacht wird (wahrscheinlich wegen der Crappy Hardware). Für mich unverständlich schliesslich haben diese Fernseher in den Jahrem mehr als 3000 Franken gekostet, wir reden hier also nicht von einer Billiglinie. Wahrscheinlich sollten wir einfach ein neueres Modell kaufen.

Sch dabei … auf Ambilight. Denn zu einem TV, an dem man Freude hat, gehört mehr als nur buntes Licht.

Philips hat ist für mich schon lange abgehakt. Hab den TV auch nur noch weil ich ihn halt „noch habe“. Denk nicht mal im Traum daran den Saftladen mit Neukauf zu unterstützen. Wenn das Marketing daraus besteht Erstkunden mit buggy SW und langsamer HW zu verkraulen, viel Erfolg in Zukunft 😂

@ Sandro, no this is not needed. Just search with Google for “Philips Android TV install apk” for example.
A short summary: You need to enable developer settings on the TV, enable USB Debugging and then you can install via ADB any apk from a PC.

With arrival of Amazon Prime in Sky Q, i had evidence it is available 4k HDR (immediatly tv set says: “HDR SIGNAL”).
Instead in Amazon Prime app inside Oreo Firmware max 4 k(and many times even FHD only!!!!).
So now we are sure that problem is firmware….as usual!!!!
