wer an seinem Philips TV-Gerät ein externes Soundsystem wie beispielsweise eine Soundbar oder einen Mehrkanal-Receiver angeschlossen hat, muss am TV bestimmte Audio-Einstellungen vornehmen, damit Mehrkanal-Ton über HDMI-ARC (Audio Return Channel) bzw. S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) ausgegeben wird. Die TV-Geräte bieten hierzu verschiedene Einstellmöglichkeiten. Aber was steckt nun genau hinter den jeweiligen Einstellungen? Folgende Einstellungen gibt es:
Stereo (unkomprimiert)
Multichannel
Multichannel (Bypass)
Dolby Digital Plus
Bezüglich der oben genannten Einstellungen muss man jedoch unterscheiden, aus welchem Jahrgang ein TV stammt . Nicht alle Optionen sind immer vorhanden. So haben beispielsweise die 2016er Androiden nur die Einstellungen Stereo und Multichannel (Multichannel hat hier aber dieselbe Funktion wie Multichannel Bypass wie unten beschrieben), die 2017/18er haben alle vier Einstellungen und die 2019er nur die ersten drei.
Noch ein kleiner Hinweis, was hinter den folgenden verwendeten Abkürzungen steckt:
Was passiert nun, wenn eine der genannten Einstellungen gewählt wird?
Stereo (unkomprimiert)
bei allen Tonsignalen wird ein Downmix auf PCM 2.0 gemacht (sofern der TV das Ursprungssoundformat unterstützt)
PCM → PCM, AC3 → PCM, DTS → PCM, DD+ → PCM
Multichannel
es findet immer eine Konvertierung zu AC3 5.1 statt
PCM → AC3, AC3 → AC3, DTS → AC3, DD+ → AC3
Multichannel (Bypass)
der Ton wird vom TV nicht verarbeitet, sondern direkt als Bitstream an das Ausgabegerät weitergereicht (also egal ob PCM, AC3, DTS oder DD+, der TV gibt es direkt weiter – auch wenn das Empfangsgerät dieses Format nicht unterstützt)
Dolby Digital Plus
es findet immer eine Konvertierung zu DD+ statt
außer: DTS bleibt DTS
PCM → DD+, AC3 → DD+
die Kanalanzahl bleibt erhalten
PCM 2.0 → DD+ 2.0, AC3 2.0 → DD+ 2.0, AC3 5.1 → DD+ 5.1
Weitere Hinweise:
Da bisher das HDMI 2.1-Feature eARC nicht implementiert ist, werden auch keine HD-Audioformate wie DTS-HD oder Dolby TrueHD via HDMI unterstützt.
S/PDIF wird bei Wiedergabe von DD+-Inhalten stummgeschaltet, da der TV hier keine Konvertierung vornimmt.
Dolby Atmos wird bei komprimierten Tonformaten nur via Dolby Digital Plus unterstützt (bei unkomprimierten via Dolby TrueHD)
