Philips: OLED “Burn-in” und wie damit richtig umgegangen wird

wer auf seinem Philips OLED TV länger statische Inhalte sieht, wird schon bemerkt haben, dass nach ca. zwei Minuten der Philips Bildschirmschoner angeht. Dies passiert, wenn beispielsweise ein Menü für längere Zeit zu sehen ist und keine Interaktion stattfindet. Der Bildschirmschoner geht aus dem Grund an, damit dem sogenannten “Burn-in” oder auch “Image Retention” vorgebeugt wird, welches sich in einer Art “Geisterbilder” oder “Grauschleier” äußert. Gibt es jedoch sehr statische Inhalte bei Bewegtbildern, so hilft auch der Bildschirmschoner nicht. Dies kann beispielsweise schon nach 20 Minuten durch Logos der TV-Sender entstehen. Technisch gesehen ist dies jedoch kein Defekt!
Folgendes Bild zeigt beispielsweise oben links den Burn-In-Effekt, der durch das Senderlogo des Kinderkanals (KiKa) entstehen kann.
OLED Burn-in KiKa Logo Philips’ OLED TV-Modelle bieten jedoch Mechanismen, die mit diesem Effekt umgehen und das Bild wieder “bereinigen”.
Hierbei gibt es zwei verschiedene Mechanismen (wenn ich weiß, wofür die Abkürzungen stehen, werde ich das entsprechend hinschreiben):

Beide Modi werden nach unterschiedlichen Zeiträumen automatisch beim Ausschalten des OLED TVs durchgeführt.
OFF-RS: ca. 240 Minuten
JB: ca. 1500 Stunden
Die Laufzeit dieser Modi unterscheidet sich ebenfalls:
OFF-RS: ca. 5 Minuten
JB: ca. 60 Minuten
Das “Bereinigen” wird in einem bestimmten Zustand des TVs durchgeführt. Dieser wird – wenn die jeweiligen Zeiträume erreicht sind – automatisch beim Herunterfahren gestartet. Bis der TV in diesen Zustand komm, kann es bis zu 5 Minuten dauern (d.h. Runterfahren + Bereinigung = 10 Minuten)! Dabei ist das TV-Panel und Ambilight aus, aber der TV läuft im Hintergrund noch und hat entsprechend auch einen höheren Stromverbrauch. Deshalb sollte der TV nie direkt nach dem Ausschalten vom Strom genommen werden! Sonst wird das Bereinigen nie korrekt durchgeführt und der TV versucht es erneut beim nächsten Ausschalten. Falls das Bereinigen immer abgebrochen wird, kann es letztendlich doch zu einem unumkehrbaren Effekt kommen!
Damit man nicht Buch führen muss, wie lange der TV schon läuft und wann in etwa die nächste Bereinigung ansteht, kann man die Werte im Consumer Service Menü (CSM: in den TV-Modus wechseln und 123654 auf der Fernbedienung drücken) nachlesen. Diese sind auf Seite 3 dargestellt (Pfeiltaste hoch/runter zum Blättern benutzen) und in den Einträgen 3.10 bis 3.13 zu finden (ab Firmware QM161E 10.15.1 , TPM171E ab Werk ). Update (21.12.2019): Das CSM wurde bei 2019er TVs erweitert.
Philips OLED CSM: OFFRS und JB Wenn das Bereinigen z.B. von OFF-RS unterbrochen wird bleibt die Zeit im CSM 3.10 bei ca. 240 Minuten stehen und erhöht sich nicht beim weiteren TV-Schauen. Erst wenn der Reinigungsprozess erfolgreich wird, wird dieser auf 0 zurückgesetzt und der Zähler (3.12) wird um eins erhöht.
Mit der Einführung der Firmware 10.15.1 (QM161E, TPM171 ab Werk ) kann das Bereinigen auch manuell gestartet werden: Alle Einstellungen -> Bild -> Erweitert -> Bildrückstände entfernen. Jedoch wird in diesem Fall direkt die JB-Reiningung aktiviert.
Philips OLED: Bildrückstände entfernen Philips OLED: Bildrückstände entfernen Wer seinen TV dennoch nach Beendigung der Bereinigung gern vom Strom nehmen will, empfehle ich ein USB-Gerät mit Status-LED. Leuchtet diese, läuft der TV noch (auch wenn das Panel und das Ambilight aus ist). Ich prüfe dies beispielsweise mit meiner USB-Aufnahme-Festplatte, da diese eine LED hat. Ist diese Aus, ist der TV im richtigen Standby.
