einige Nutzer von Philips Blu-ray- und Home-Cinema-Systemen mit SmartTV werden es schon mitbekommen haben: Beim Aufruf von SmartTV, kommt die Fehlermeldung “Verbindung mit Philips Server nicht möglich. Auch Nutzer der Philips Streamium/MCI-Geräte können seit Kurzem nicht mehr auf das integrierte Internet-Radio zugreifen, weil keine Online-Verbindung hergestellt werden kann. Aber von Anfang an…
Als die Philips Audio/Video/Multimedia-Sparte ausgegliedert wurde (als WOOX Innovations ) und später durch Gibson übernommen wurde (als Gibson Innovations ), wurde das SmartTV vieler Home-Cinema- und Blu-ray-Systeme entfernt bzw. extrem kastriert (es war nur noch Netflix, YouTube und die App “Offenes Internet” verfügbar ). Dieses Jahr kam es dann, dass auch Gibson insolvent wurde und somit das Aus für Gibson Innovations auch beschlossen war .
Erste direkte Auswirkungen zeigten sich, als die notwendigen Apps in Google Play und in iTunes verschwunden waren (jedoch nach Monaten wieder unter anderen Firmennamen auftauchten ). Und nun wurden auch die Server im Hintergrund, die für die SmartTV-Einstiegsseite (für Netflix, YouTube, offenes Internet) verantwortlich waren abgeschaltet. Hinzugekommen sind auch die Server, die den Radio-Zugang bei den Streamium-Geräten (und MCI-Geräten) gemanagt haben (man erinnere sich, dass man die Radiosender im Online-Zugang bei “MyPhilips” konfigurieren konnte).
Als Lösung für die Streamium-Geräte mit analogen Audio-Eingängen wäre eine Nachrüstung via Amazon Echo Input und das fehlende SmartTV bei Home-Cinema- und Blu-ray-Systemen derAmazon Fire TV Stick.

Streamium-Geräte scheinen doch noch zu laufen… Bei BDP-Playern bleibt das SmartTV aber weiterhin nicht erreichbar.
