Warum wird erst 2019 Dolby Vision unterstützt? Zur IFA 2018 wurde mit Dolby die Übereinkunft getroffen, dass Philips das Dolby Vision-Signal weiter aufbereiten darf, also seine P5-Bildverbesserung auch auf das Dolby Vision-Signal anwenden kann. Das war der ausschlaggebende Punkt, Dolby Vision auch zu integrieren.
Wird es Dolby Vision via Software-Upgrade auch für ältere TV-Generationen geben? Nein, da Dolby Vision hier nicht in Software verarbeitet werden kann. Die notwendige Hardwareunterstützung ist erst ab der 2019er Hardwareplattform vorhanden.
