in den vergangenen 6 Jahren hat Philips für seine High-End Android TVs immer alle 2 Jahre die Hardware-Plattform runderneuert. Damit einher ging auch immer, dass zwei aufeinanderfolgende Jahrgänge dieselbe Software bzw. Firmware nutzen.

Bevor ich auf die kommenden Philips TVs eingehe, eine kurze Übersicht über die jeweils genutzte Plattform/SOC/Firmware der vergangenen Jahre:

Die nun kommenden 2023/2024 High-End Android TVs werden wieder mit einer MediaTek Plattform bestückt: MT9972 (tbc). Wie Rasmus von Flatpanelshd.com auf der CES 2023 in Erfahrung bringen konnte, werden die 2023er Philips OLED TVs den MediaTek Pentonic 1000 (Datenblatt) als SOC verwenden:

Da in der Vergangenheit sowohl High-End OLEDs als auch LCDs/MiniLEDs dieselbe Plattform nutzen, gehe ich stark davon aus, dass es auch 2023/2024 so ist.

Weiterhin berichtet Flatpanelshd.com, dass die MediaTek Pentonic TVs auch mit vorkonfigurierter CalMan ready Funkionalität ausgerüstet sind, um eine Kalibrierung der TVs vornehmen zu können.

Noch eine kleine Bemerkung zu der eingesetzten Firmware TPM231WW. Ich gehe davon aus, dass das “WW” für World Wide steht. In der Vergangenheit waren die Buchstaben E bzw. EA oder L beschreibend für die verschiedenen Regionen in der Welt. E für Europe, L aus meiner Sicht für LATAM und A höchstwahrscheinlich für APAC. Somit ist es durchaus zu begrüßen, dass es nun eine Firmware für alle weltweit auf dieser Plattform eingesetzten Philips TVs gibt. Falls ich hier falsch liege, kann mich gern jemand von TP Vision korrigieren ;-)
