in den Philips TV-Jahrgängen 2011 bis einschließlich 2022 konnten Ambilight TVs mit den Philips Hue-Lampen gekoppelt werden, um das Farbspektakel weiter in den Raum tragen zu können. Ursprünglich noch unter in einem (Konzern-)Haus konzipiert, haben sich die Zeiten geändert. Philips TVs werden in Europa von TP Vision hergestellt und die ehemalige Lichtsparte von Philips firmiert nun unter Signify. Mit dem Jahrgang 2023 wurde die in den TVs integrierte Hue-Kompatibilität in den Philips TVs entfernt und andere Hersteller (Samung und LG ) kamen in den Genuß, die TVs mit Hue-Lampen koppeln zu können. Nun steht endlich ein Nachfolger für die fehlende Hue-Integration in Philips TVs in den Startlöchern, der unter der Bezeichnung AmbiScape das Licht der Welt erblickt (was für ein Wortspiel).
Im Gegensatz zu der alten Integration, basiert AmbiScape auf dem offenen Matter-Kommunikationsprotokoll. Somit lassen sich nicht nur die Hue-Lampen einbinden, sondern auch andere Thread-kompatible Leuchtmittel anderer Hersteller. Die Nutzung von Matter hat wiederum den Vorteil, dass Besitzer der alten Philips Hue-Bridge 2.0 diese weiter nutzen können (die neue Hue Bridge Pro ist nicht kompatibel zu der alten Hue-Implementierung in den Philips TVs ). Denn die Bridge hat per Update vor einiger Zeit Matter-Support erhalten.
Spannend wird die Frage, welche Philips TVs in den Genuß von AmbiScape kommen und vor allem, welche Jahrgänge. Die Funktion ist seit einem letzten Firmware-Update für folgende Philips TVs verfügbar:
2025: Titan OS – High-End-Serien
Ich denke nicht, dass die niedrigeren 2025er Titan-OS-Serien diese Funktion bekommen, auch denke ich nicht, dass die Android-Plattform aktuell AmbiScape per Update erhalten werden (auch wenn das echt wünschenswert wäre, da somit auch die 2023er und 2024er wieder diese Funktion hätten). Im 2026er Jahrgang wird AmbiScape bestimmt eine weitere Verbreitung finden. Aber lassen wir uns überraschen…
Eine Liste der kompatiblen Smart Home-Hubs und Leuchtmitteln kann man hier finden (aber aufgrund des Standards, sollte da noch einige hinzukommen). Neben der Hue Bridge 2.0 und Hue Bridge Pro wird unter anderem auch der IKEA DIRIGERA Hub mit TRÅDFRI Lampen unterstützt.
