es ist jetzt genau 10 Jahre her, dass ein besonderer und unkonventioneller Philips TV das Licht der Öffentlichkeit erblickte, denn die DesignLine 2013 wurde am 14. März 2013 offiziell vorgestellt . Bereits 3 Wochen zuvor konnte ich das neue Design live bewundern, durfte aber nicht zu diesem Zeitpunkt darüber berichten. So wurde uns beim – noch damals speziellen deutschen – Philips TV Launch Event in Hamburg das 2013er Line-Up mit vielen Hintergrundinformationen vorgestellt. In einer tollen Location bekam man beim Rundgang durch verschiedene Räume die einzelnen TV-Serien vorgestellt. Im letzten Raum (“Hinter verschlossenen Türen”) gab es dann die Überraschung: Die DesignLine – ein fast schwebender TV aus Glas.
Der TV wurde damals mit einer speziellen Wandhalterung ausgestattet, damit der TV bzw. die Glasscheibe nicht wegrutschte. Wen es interessiert, kann sich gern die Aufbauanleitung im Quick Start Guide dazu anschauen.

Philips TV 2013: Die DesignLine 8908 (46PDL8908 und 55PDL8908) Die DesignLine hätte sich übrigens sehr gut geeignet, um einen Nachfolger für den Cinema 21:9 zu finden. Man hätte einfach die oberen schwarzen Balken wegschneiden und das Bild nach oben schieben können. Die “doppelten schwarzen Balken” unten wären aufgrund der Färbung der sich darunter anschließenden Glasplatte nicht aufgefallen. Einzig die LCD-Technik hätte wahrscheinlich einen leichten Schimmer des schwarzen Bereichs hinterlassen. Könnte ja heutzutage aber mit OLED wettgemacht werden ;-)
Zurück zum Thema. Wer damals seinen TV noch mit einem passenden Fidelio Audiosystem verbinden wollte, griff dann zur Philips SoundSphere Fidelio PS1 – ebenfalls ein Design-Meisterwerk – vorausgesetzt, das Geld spielte nicht so sehr eine Rolle.
