Besitzer und Käufer von ausgewählten Philips Smart- und Android-TVs der Modelljahre 2015 und 2016 genießen jetzt anspruchsvolle Online-Spiele auch ohne den Kauf einer speziellen Gaming-Konsole. Die Partnerschaft mit GameFly ist in Deutschland und Österreich sowie in zwölf weiteren Ländern Europas gestartet und wird im Laufe des Jahres noch erweitert.
GameFly Streaming ergänzt das bereits umfassende Angebot an Gaming- und Videodiensten auf der Philips Android-Plattform. Genau wie alle anderen Inhalte gewinnen die Spiele von GameFly durch das einzigartige Philips Ambilight noch weiter an Faszination. Ambilight erzeugt über LEDs einen Lichtschein auf der rückwärtigen Wand, der sich der Handlung auf dem Bildschirm in Farbe und Helligkeit in Echtzeit anpasst. Den Höhepunkt der Ambilight-Technologie stellt dabei der neue AmbiLux dar, der mit neun Pico-Projektoren einen detailreichen Halo mit einer Diagonale von bis zu 3 Metern auf die Wand projiziert und so das ultimative Gaming-Erlebnis erschafft.
Um die Spiele schnell, verzögerungsfrei und reaktionsschnell wiedergeben zu können, bieten alle Philips TVs eine Kombination von schnellem Processing, großem internen Speicher sowie der Möglichkeit, den Speicherplatz extern zu erweitern.
Das Angebot startet mit einer Auswahl von 60 Spielen, die über den cloudbasierten Service von GameFly gestreamt werden können. Dazu gehören beliebte Konsolentitel wie T omb Raider Game of the Year Edition, Batman: Arkham Origins, F.E.A.R. 3, Darksiders , Red Faction Armageddon, Lego Batman 3, Pacman Championship Edition, WRC4 und viele weitere Spiele noch in diesem Jahr.
Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt sind 21 kompatible Philips TV-Modelle verfügbar mit weiteren 16 Modellen, die im Laufe des Jahres per Firmware-Upgrade die Kompatibilität zur GameFly Streaming App erhalten werden. GameFly Streaming stellt mit schnellem und einfachem Zugang zu einer vielfältigen Auswahl an Spielen ein sehr interessantes Angebot für Gamer und Familien dar. Games können bis zu 15 Minuten kostenfrei angespielt werden. Um unterschiedlichen Bedürfnissen gerecht zu werden, sind zwei verschiedene Abo-Modelle für Familien und Gamer im Angebot. Das Familien-Paket beinhaltet Titel mit einer PEGI-Jugendschutz-Einstufung von 12 Jahren und jünger. Zum Gamer-Paket gehören dagegen anspruchsvollere Spiele mit allen PEGI-Einstufungen. Jedes Paket bietet zehn Titel, die regelmäßig erneuert werden.
Die Voraussetzung für Spielespaß mit HD-Auflösung ist eine Breitband-Internet-Verbindung von 8 Mbps, während für die Standard-Auflösung bereits 4 Mbps ausreichend sind. Zur Steuerung wird ein Gamepad – zur Auswahl stehen fünf Modelle von verschiedenen Anbietern – benötigt, das über den USB-Eingang mit dem TV verbunden wird.
Für das Gaming-Erlebnis insbesondere von Action-Spielen ist eine möglichst kurze Eingabeverzögerung (Latency) von besonderer Bedeutung. Sie konnte auf eine Zehntelsekunde reduziert werden, was praktisch nicht mehr wahrnehmbar ist. Zusätzliche Sicherheitsfunktionen gewährleisten ein störungsfreies Spieleerlebnis auch bei Internetproblemen wie bei Paketverlust, Bandbreiten-Fluktuationen oder unterschiedlichen Paketumlaufzeiten.
Selbstverständlich sind die Spiele auch frei von Werbeunterbrechungen und können zwischengespeichert werden, um sie später auf jedem kompatiblen Philips TV oder anderem GameFly Streaming-kompatiblen Gerät fortzusetzen.
