Wenn man diesen Standpunkt vertritt, wäre es aber besser, dass Hersteller gar keine Smarten Funktionen mehr anbieten, sondern nur mehr die Basis Software für die Bildverarbeitung und Komponentenanschluss. Dann sollte man die Smarte Funktion gleich von vornherein von Zuspielern oder Sticks bewerkstelligen. Ich hab kein Problem damit für ein gutes Panel und einen guten Bildprozessor gutes Geld auszugeben. Aber für Software, die man teuer bezahlt, und nicht gepflegt wird, möchte ich nicht extra einen Aufpreis zahlen. Wenn Hersteller sich nicht um Smarte Software kümmern wollen, nach Release… Dann sollten sie das einfach externen Profis überlassen.(Besitzer eines 2018er 65″ Philips Oled mit FireTV Cube)
The thing is that if you buy a product of over 2000 Dollar, you expect that the manufacturer does his best keeping the smart device updated for at least a few years. We never received one single major update. But TP-Vision is releasing new TV’s with newer Android TV versions every year.
When they announced the update for the 2018-2019 models almost 2 years ago, you’d expect this would arrive in late 2019 begin 2020, nothing happend, no communications, and support just says the update comes.
TP-Vision almost killed the TPM171E with a bad update last year, it took over 2 months to fix it.
Maybe it’s time to all e-mail Philips support, and ask the same question, that it’s time to give an update about the update to Android TV 10
I think there won’t be any other update to a higher android version. Basically we are already past the 2 or 3 years phase in which you could expect at least some updates. So it’s either switching to another device or just staying happy with a nice TV and an external smart device.
My own conclusion is… I would not buy a Philips device anymore (mainly did it because of ambilight), not because the devices are bad, just because of open communication issues. If there is a clear technical reason why they cannot update the software anymore… just state it. Leaving open such information is just generating anger an frustration on people who spent a fortune on a new device.
I agree completely.. I will not be buying Philips again
