I tried to use Automate, but the UI is a bit hard to use on the TV. I guess it’s designed for touch screens, and I couldn’t quite get it to work, so in the end I just set it using ADB from my raspberry pi. Every 5min I check if the TV is on and if it’s on I configure the screensaver and screen off timeout until it’s been off again.
adb shell settings put system screen_off_timeout 300000
adb shell settings put secure sleep_timeout 1800000
I was thinking I could perhaps update my script to check the actual uptime as currently there’s still a chance that if the TV is turned on and off again in the 5 min interval my script won’t be aware.
