Philips TV 2023: Unterstützung von Dolby Atmos und DTS:X via DTS Play-Fi Home Theater

anlässlich der IFA 2023 hat DTS (eine hundertprozentigen Tochtergesellschaft von Xperi Inc.) ein Update seiner DTS Play-Fi Lösung angekündigt. Bisher wurde über DTS Play-Fi nur 5.1 Ton unterstützt. Mit DTS Play-Fi Home Theater werden in Zukunft 12 diskrete Kanäle unterstützt. Dies hat auch Auswirkung auf die Implementierung in den Philips TV-Geräten, da TPV als erster Partner der neuen Lösung bekanntgegeben wurde.
Folgendes wird theoretisch mit dem Home Theater -Update möglich sein:
Lautsprecherkonfiguration bis 7.2.4
TV als Center-Lautsprecher (bereits jetzt schon möglich)
Unterstützung von DTS:X, Dolby Atmos und IMAX Enhanced
Funktioniert via HDMI, integrierter Streaming-Apps, AirPlay und Chromecast
Verschiedene DTS Play-Fi Lautsprecher unterschiedlicher Hersteller in einem Setup möglich

Ich vermute, dass wenn die 2024er Philips TV-Modelle kommen, das Feature auch für die 2023er Einzug erhält, da wahrscheinlich wieder dieselbe Hardware-Plattform in den 2024er TVs zum Einsatz kommt und somit dieselbe Firmware.
Von den 2023er Philips TV-Geräten unterstützten alle Serien ab 85×8 aufwärts DTS Play-Fi . Da in der Pressemitteilung von “ausgewählten” TVs gesprochen wird, könnte ich mir vorstellen, dass das Feature nicht für die 2023er MiniLEDs (PML9008 und PML9308) kommt, da diese auf einer anderen Hardware-Plattform basieren und Philips eigenes Smart-TV-Betriebssystem im Gegensatz zu Android TV (Google TV) nutzen. Anderseits: Da 2023 alle TVs unter der 85x8er Serie kein DTS Play-Fi unterstützen, könnten auch alle 2023er Philips TVs mit DTS Play-Fi gemeint sein. Hier hilft wie immer abzuwarten…
