Madrid, Hamburg, 13, März 2017 – Die Spitzenmodelle der neuen Philips TV-Range des ersten Halbjahres 2017 zeichnen sich durch eine erheblich verbesserte Bildqualität aus. Grund dafür ist die neue P5 Processing Engine.
Die P5 Engine bietet 25% mehr Bildverarbeitungsfunktionen und nochmals 25% mehr Rechenleistung, was einem Gesamtleistungszuwachs von 50% gegenüber der existierenden Perfect Pixel Ultra HD-Engine entspricht.
Durch eine weitere Integration auf Chipebene ist es gelungen, die bisher drei Rechenprozessoren des Perfect Pixel Ultra HD-Systems auf einem Chip zu konzentrieren. Die Reduzierung der Chipanzahl bringt bereits einen schnelleren Datentransfer mit besserem Timing und verbesserter Kontrolle über den gesamten Bildverarbeitungsprozess.
P5 bringt außerdem neue Funktionen und weitere Optimierungen in vier von fünf Bereichen der Bildverarbeitung: Qualität der Bildquelle, Schärfe, Farbe und Kontrast. Der fünfte Bereich ist die Bewegungserkennung mit Perfect Motion Processing sowie Scanning Backlight. In diesem Bereich erreicht bereits die bisherige Perfect Pixel Ultra HD-Engine eine führende Qualität im Markt.
Ein anderes Ziel der Weiterentwicklung der Engine war es, das Quellensignal zu optimieren, um stets perfekt korrigierte Daten in das Bildprocessing einfließen lassen zu können. Dies ist insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund von HDR und extrem hellen Displays wichtig.
Ferner besitzt die P5 Engine eine neues, fortschrittliches DNR- sowie Moskito-NR-System, das ein stark erweitertes Rauschreduzierungspotential besitzt ohne Detailverluste zu riskieren oder schmierende Artefakte zu erzeugen.
Ein neues Smart Bit Enhancement System bringt 8-Bit Videos nahezu auf 14-Bit-Präzision in Bildbereichen, in denen Banding-Artefakte auftreten. Das Resultat sind weichere Abstufungen ohne Detailverluste. Gleichzeitig bietet das System eine verbesserte Analyse der MPEG-Codierqualität.
Beim Thema Schärfeverbesserung bietet die P5 Engine eine neue Detailmessung und einen neuen Detail-Verstärker sowie eine neue verbesserte Schärfemessung. Der Detail-Verstärker skaliert jeden Inhalt auf UHD-Niveau und erschafft Bilder mit feineren Linien und mehr Details für eine verbesserte Darstellung der Tiefenstaffelung des Bildes.
Für eine noch feinere Farbverarbeitung verfügt die P5 Engine über ein verbessertes Gamut Mapping System.
Zudem zeigt die P5 Engine deutliche Verbesserungen bei der Kontrastdarstellung dank der Integration von Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) Processing. P5 bietet signifikante Verbesserungen in vielen Bereichen der Bildqualität und erlaubt es, beim Einsatz mit einem OLED, wie im neuen Modell Philips 9002, von einer neuen Referenzbildqualität zu sprechen.
